What is Doun Gallery?
Doun Gallery is a blog and creative platform founded in 2025 by Kaya Ugorji. Inspired by the likes of Kendrick Lamar’s PG Lang and Solange’s Saint Heron, the platform aims to share the creative ideas, designs, and projects of Kaya Ugorji, while simultaneously building a space where art and culture are discussed, and creatives are celebrated.
With a background in visual art and design, and a passion for photography, music, and the dramatic arts, Kaya has always considered herself a multidisciplinary artist, refusing to confine herself to one way of expressing her creativity. She sees Doun Gallery as a way to stay connected to her love of the arts and storytelling. She believes the arts are a pivotal part of our culture that must be kept alive by discussing art frequently, and with intention. While Doun Gallery is partially an outlet for Kaya’s creative projects, the platform also aims to be a network initiating discussions that expand into the broader cultural sphere, encouraging community building and collaboration by way of art and design.
